Car servicing 'is vital'
Female motorists who do not want to risk invalidating their specialist insurance for women drivers may want to ensure they book their auto in for regular car servicing.
According to the British Insurance Brokers' Association, failing to keep up with basic maintenance can prove to be a costly mistake.
It explained if a driver is involved in an accident and their vehicle is deemed to be unroadworthy, cover providers may be within their rights to refuse to pay out.
The group said motorists need to ensure their auto has an up-to-date MOT certificate and tyres meet legal minimum requirements.
Steve Foulsham, technical services manager, said: "If you were to have a claim, if your tyres were illegal, then technically that could nullify your insurance."
As a result, women drivers may find taking their set of wheels for regular car checks at a local female-friendly garage could provide valuable peace of mind.
