Female motorists 'could be putting their lives at risk'

Women drivers could be putting their lives and those of other road users at risk by failing to check their tyre pressure, TyreSafe has warned.
Research by the organisation found more than half of the motorists they surveyed had not checked their tyre pressure in the last month.
According to the group, tyres should be tested at least once every four weeks.
Figures from the Department for Transport have shown defective or under-inflated tyres played a role in the deaths of 43 motorists last year and contributed to a further 984 road traffic collisions.
Rob Beddis, chairman of TyreSafe, said: "Under-inflated tyres can cause dramatic changes in the way a vehicle handles and corners, resulting in surprise and confusion for drivers which often results in accidents."
These comments come ahead of the group's launch of October's tyre safety month.
Recently, TyreSafe uploaded ten digitally animated tyre safety lessons onto its website.
