Foxy lady drivers prefer new car dealerships that have signed the female friendly FOXY Promise© to never knowingly overcharge, patronise or sell women motorists' services they don't need.

Women drivers looking to buy a vehicle should find new car discounts are at their highest level in eight years, a motoring magazine has claimed.

What Car? claimed average discounts on motors currently stand at about £2,000 and it added they could get even bigger.

Buyers are generally saving £244 more now than they were at the beginning of the year and more than double the £974 that was being knocked off prices in 2001, the publication stated.

The magazine said, with discounts like these available for those who were prepared to haggle, it was certainly a buyers' market.

It added the first ever half-price deal could even be on the cards, as it had heard of cars being sold to dealers at 40 per cent of their list price.

Editor Steve Fowler commented: "With so few people dipping into their pockets, sales staff will be almost begging buyers to make an offer."

Meanwhile, for female drivers after a second-hand vehicle, the Ford Focus was recently named What Car? used car of the year.
