Foxy drivers 'could be paid to go green'
Female motorists switching from gas-guzzlers to environmentally-friendly cars could be paid for their trouble in future.
Government officials are investigating ways of getting drivers to take to the road in a more eco-conscious manner and this method could also cut their road tax bills.
Indeed, by 2010, foxy female drivers travelling in Band F vehicles such as the Renault Espace, VW Passat and Citroen C8 are expected to be paying up to £455 in tax.
But Conservative Party member Tim Yeo has remarked that such a move needs to be made in a way that does not exclude drivers.
"The treasury must also work to ensure these changes are not unfair to vulnerable groups. This includes looking at paying people to trade in their existing high-emission cars," said the official.
One foxy female driver who takes to the road in an eco-friendly manner is Cameron Diaz.
