FOXY Archive Going green 'will save female motorists money'
By choosing a garage or dealership that has signed the female friendly FOXY Promise© women drivers can avoid being patronised, overcharged or mis-sold services at MOT, car servicing or vehicle repair times.
Women drivers looking to trade in their current car could save money by going green, Which? has claimed.
According to the consumer group one of the easiest ways to be more environmentally-friendly and to cut costs is to switch from petrol to diesel.
It pointed out cars which run on the latter type of fuel will get more miles to the gallon thereby saving female motorists money at the pump.
The organisation also reminded drivers that owners of eco-friendly models pay less road tax with those opting for a vehicle with carbon emissions of less than 100 g/km paying nothing at all.
A series of tests conducted by Which? have revealed the top ten green cars.
In joint top place were the Fiat Panda 1.3 Multijet, the Toyota Yaris 1.4 D-4D and the Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion 1 - all of which are diesel models.
Commenting on going green, Richard Headland from Which? said: "Its a win-win situation. Choosing a greener car will reduce your carbon tyreprint, cost less in road tax and you'll save money every time you fill up your car."
Last year Which? criticised dealers for offering customers inaccurate safety advice.
