Honda hybrid 'outselling competitors'
Honda has revealed its Insight hybrid car is, so far, outselling its competitors in the first month of sales.
John Kingston, Honda (UK)'s environment and government affairs manager, suggests the car appeals to motorists who wish to cut costs and help the environment.
He says: "The Insight is proving a hit with cost-savvy consumers looking for a cleaner car that's more affordable.
"More and more people want a car that makes sound financial sense, especially in the current economic climate."
He adds the Insight offers numerous running cost savings - such as reduced road tax of £15 per year. The Insight 1.3-litre IMA SE costs £15,490 on-the-road.
Jay Nagley of Clean Green Cars has previously claimed advances in technology will mean hybrid cars have a "major impact" on the industry.
Female drivers in London could save money with a hybrid car because they are exempt from the capital's congestion charge.
