FOXY Archive 'New Fiesta is answer green motorists are looking for'
Ford has claimed its new Fiesta is the answer to the green car demand.
Debuting at the British International Motor Show today, Ford enters the UK's biggest car show as the top selling vehicle brand in the country.
And the company aims to push retail sales up by 7.6 per cent with its new range of green cars.
Ford's Econetic range, unveiled today, includes the new Ford Fiesta, which the company claims will have the lowest CO2 emissions and the highest fuel economy of any four-seater, four-cylinder car on the market.
Roelant de Waard, Ford of Britain chairman and managing director, said: "The British motor show is scheduled to bring half a million car enthusiasts to Ford's East London heartland.
"Many will pass our wind-powered Dagenham plant on the way."
Male and female drivers with an interest in the environment have pushed sales of Ford's sub-120g CO2/km up by 38 per cent, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
Ford targeted Heat readers with its Ford Fiesta in the magazines Celebrity City campaign in the summer of 2006, according to Brand Republic.
