New training programme may impress parents
Women motorists who worry about their kids learning to drive may be impressed with a new training programme.
The Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy is designed to ensure youngsters become fully competent behind the wheel and do not simply focus on how to get through their test.
Instructors offer guidance on basic vehicle control and how to cope with the range of situations they are likely to encounter on public roads.
Managing director Peter O'Halloran stated: "The Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy provides young people with the skills and thought-based experiences that go beyond the requirements of just passing the driving test".
The training is suitable for a variety of ages – starting with kids as young as 12.
Participants can sign up for pre-road, provisional licence and post-test modules.
All the different courses are aimed at making novices safer behind the wheel, Mr O'Halloran claimed.
Meanwhile, young female motorists who are struggling to find cheap cover may be able to get a good deal on specialist insurance for women drivers.
This is because ladies are generally considered to pose less of a risk than their male counterparts.
