By choosing a garage or dealership that has signed the female friendly FOXY Promise© women drivers can avoid being patronised, overcharged or mis-sold services at MOT, car servicing or vehicle repair times.

Women drivers with Nissan cars may welcome the news the manufacturer has made the motor industry code of practice for service and repair compulsory for its dealers.

The company has agreed to pay for subscription, annual renewal and compliance checks costs for every one of its 180 franchised outlets across the UK and Northern Ireland.

As a result, Nissan's dealers and authorised repair facilities may be a good choice for women drivers looking for female-friendly services.

Businesses who sign up to the code are committing themselves to providing motorists with an honest service, open and fair pricing, work being completed as agreed, conscientious staff and an effective complaints procedure.

Steve McLennan from Nissan said: "All customers will benefit from this code as it sets clear standards for dealers and repair centres for repairing and servicing vehicles."

Earlier this month, the manufacturer announced it was cutting the prices on a number of its vehicles until December 7th.
