Personalise your Mother's Day present
If you are stuck thinking about what to get your mum for Mother's Day, then the DVLA reckons a personalised number plate could be ideal.
According to the group, double the number of these registrations are now bought as presents, with 46 per cent being purchased for this reason between October 1st 2008 and January 31st 2009.
Women drivers who want to make their car that bit extra special might really like a personalised plate for Mothering Sunday, which falls on March 22nd.
"They fall into the rare gift for life category and, with prices starting from £245, they're great value," remarked DVLA Personalised Registrations marketing manager Damian Lawson.
Combinations currently available include MY09 MUM and MY02 MUM.
Of course, if you change the plate on your car it is crucial to fill out the relevant paperwork and ensure the vehicle is legally registered.
Those with specialist women's car insurance should also inform their cover provider of the change.
