Police offering free number plate screws
Women drivers in West Yorkshire may want to take advantage of an initiative being run by police in the area.
Officers have announced they will be holding two sessions where cars will be fitted with tamper-proof number plate screws.
The surgeries will take place at Morrisons supermarket in Meltham from 09:00 BST on Wednesday June 10th and at the Heckmondwike branch of the same supermarket from 10:00 BST on June 16th.
Motorists were urged to take advantage of the scheme because if their plates are stolen and used on a car involved in a crime, they could end up having to spend valuable time establishing their innocence.
PC Mark Wall explained autos with false registrations can cause a lot of trouble.
"If these vehicles are involved in any incident or accident ... it is difficult to establish the true identity of the vehicle and its driver," he stated.
Elsewhere in West Yorkshire, pupils at Lydgate Junior and Infants in Batley are helping police tackle speeding drivers outside their school.
