Pothole website re-launched
Female motorists who have ended up damaging their cars on poorly maintained roads may want to check out a website that has recently been re-launched.
Potholes.co.uk allows drivers to warn other vehicle owners about particularly troublesome routes and also offers advice on how to claim compensation from councils for auto problems caused by uneven surfaces.
According to Warranty Direct, the creator of the online resource, poorly maintained roads contribute to one in three of all mechanical failures on cars.
Spokesman Duncan McClure said: "Continuous driving over cracked or uneven road surfaces or one sudden jolt from a pothole can cause substantial damage to shock absorbers, springs, upper and lower arms and stabiliser bars."
He added it should not be down to motorists to pay for problems caused in this manner.
Last month, Warranty Direct claimed the severe winter weather experienced earlier this year resulted in a significant increase in potholes.
