Safety results for family cars released 02 June 08
Examiners have released the latest safety testing results for cars aimed at female motorists with families.
The new Ford Kuga was among vehicles picking up good marks in Euro NCAP tests, which could interest women drivers with young children.
The Ford was given five star ratings for adult protection performance, four for child protection and three for pedestrians.
The safety organisation said: "Euro NCAP is pleased to see that all of the cars in the line-up received four stars in Child Occupant Protection currently the maximum safety protection available on the market."
Five other cars were tested in a series of results on vehicles mostly aimed at couples with children.
The Audi A4 and Skoda Superb both did well, picking up five stars for adult protection and four for child protection.
However, both cars did less well when it came to protecting pedestrians during an impact, scoring just two stars in this category.
The Euro NCAP tests aim to provide drivers with independent safety information of the most popular models bought across the continent.
