Sheila's Wheels: Beware beauty products
Sheila's Wheels, a provider of insurance for women drivers, has claimed more and more females are increasing the amount they spend on personal grooming products.
However, as the recession starts to bite, the insurance provider said this is causing an increase in beauty blunders and damage caused by such products.
Spilled nail varnish, mascara, foundation, lipstick and perfume are all in the top ten list of beauty dangers.
Jacky Brown, a spokesperson for Sheila's Wheels, says "dyes, lotions and cosmetics can stain" and cause "considerable damage".
Being careful with such products could help motorists avoid having to make a claim.
Meanwhile, it has been reported women drivers in Surrey have been advised to take care when parking at local beauty spots, because they are often targeted by criminals.
PC Mike Bessent said police are tackling vehicle crime, but need motorists to "play their part by not leaving property on display".
