FOXY Archive Toyota Yaris wins green car award
Women drivers looking for a greener vehicle to cut emissions and fuel costs could go for a Toyota which has just won a prestigious award.
The Toyota Yaris has been named green car of the year 2008 by the Environmental Transport Association (ETA) which assesses hundreds of vehicles when developing its Green Car Buyer's Guide.
Toyota, which first released the second generation of the Yaris in 2006, also announced the car was named top green vehicle in ETA's Supermini category.
The Japanese manufacturer said: "The Yaris has a strong, dynamic look and is exceptionally aerodynamically efficient with a Cd of 0.30 among the best in its class."
Fuel economy is improved by the car's aerodynamics, Toyota added, saying it also reduced noise disturbance while driving.
Foxy Lady Drivers Club members could also be interested in Toyota's Prius, Aygo and Auris models, which were all in ETA's green top ten.
ETA was founded in 1990 as an ethical alternative motoring organisation and sustainable travel lobby group.
