Toyota iQ may be the intelligent choice for green female motorists
Environmentally-aware women drivers who are considering updating their car in the next couple of months may want to check out the Toyota iQ.
The manufacturer has announced that it is now taking orders in the UK, with delivery taking place in January.
It claimed the iQ is so ground-breaking it will be a key milestone in future vehicle development.
The model's CO2 emissions start at under 100 grams per kilometre, news which may be welcomed by those female motorists keen to reduce their carbon footprint.
According to the engineers, they had a certain sort of customer in mind when they created the car.
The car is less than three metres long but apparently does not compromise on space, driving fun or comfort.
Chief engineer Hiroki Makajima said he expects the model to appeal to "post-modern people who demonstrate independence in their choice of lifestyle and values".
Previously, Toyota announced the iQ is to feature an airbag to protect backseat passengers.
