What are super fuels and are they worth it?
As the price of petrol goes up, it might be worth looking into what "super fuels" are and if they can make any difference to motoring.
Consumer guide Which? Car recently tested three super fuels that claim to enhance a vehicle's performance and, in some cases, economy.
However, the overall opinion was that for many cars, buying this type of fuel is a "waste of money", said Which? Car editor Richard Headland.
"There's no conclusive evidence to show that super fuels are better for your car in the long-run," he explained.
Results of the test included the "slightly worse" performance and economy when a Renault Megane 1.5 was filled up with BP Ultimate, while a Ford Focus 1.6 experienced a "marginal power increase" when given Shell V-Power.
